I love decorating for the holidays. I’m a person who welcomes change, so it’s great when I have an excuse to switch up my everyday decor. I’m always a bit sad when the last of the Christmas decorations are put away, making our home look a bit bare. So decorating for Valentine’s Day is something I look forward to.
I think a person is allowed to go overboard with Christmas decorations, but I think for minor holidays like Valentine’s Day or the Fourth of July, a tasteful nod of celebration is appropriate. This reasoning is why I only opted for a cute framed graphic, a heart banner and a pink ribbon. But if Valentine’s Day is your favorite, by all means, go hog wild!
The heart banner was made from leftover pages from a coffee table book I used in a previous project (see here). The framed xoxo graphic was something I created using my new found pattern making skills in Adobe Illustrator. I recently finished a class through Nicole’s Classes. If you are interested in design, I highly recommend their classes!
The xoxo graphic is a free printable for download below. It fits a 5 x 7 in. frame in case you want to swap out a family photo for the cute print.
Do you have any fun plans for Valentine’s Day? Have you done any love-inspired crafts in celebration of the holiday?
xoxo,
Andi
