From fashion accessory to curtain tie back

21 Nov

This past weekend my husband and I were doing one of our favorite weekend activities – hanging out at Barnes and Noble. As I was flipping through a home decor magazine and drinking a salted caramel hot chocolate (seriously is there anything better than that!), I stumbled upon the below picture.

I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this idea! The use of a belt as a curtain tie back is so chic. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always felt that traditional curtain tie backs, especially those with tassels, were always so stuffy and boring. Luckily I had a bright orange belt that would be perfect as a tie back. This cute belt has seen little play as a fashion accessory since I bought it a few years ago at H&M. Now it’s the perfect accent piece for the curtain hanging in my entryway, replacing the boring black ribbon I had been using as a tie back.

So what do you think? Do you like this unconventional use of a belt?

xoxo, Andi

The orange against the black is great it really pops out! It’s certainly different 🙂 I might even give it a go!
