Some women love shoes – I love tailored jackets. In fact, I love them so much that I have considered learning to sew jackets and nothing else. How wonderful life would be if I could just whip up a cute blazer like a contestant on Project Runway. To me, nothing adds polish to an outfit like a nicely tailored jacket. It can elevate almost anything – even a boring t-shirt and jeans can become spectacular.
I purchased the magenta (or as Anthropologie calls it – purple) beauty featured above on one of my many recent trips to the store. Over the last month or so, I have been to Anthropologie a half a dozen times. No I’m not a Anthropologie stalker – it’s just that the store always has such great sales after Christmas, plus December was my Birthday month, so I had to buy something with my 15% off coupon. Letting that promotion go to waste would be criminal and I wanted to make sure I bought an item worthy of the discount.
I didn’t intend to add another jacket to my already full closet, but it was love at first sight. I’m a sucker for magenta AND peplum, so I easily surrendered to the fashion gods as soon as I found out the jacket fit like a glove. In case you’re wondering, the jacket is still available and it comes in ivory! If I wasn’t so fair-skinned, I would have considered purchasing that color instead. It was truly gorgeous in ivory.
This jacket can be styled so many ways, however I chose to go the classic route with a simple black turtle neck, statement jewelry, skinny jeans and leopard flats. The next time I wear it, I’ll probably pair it with my leopard sweater and some cute studded shoe booties.
P.S. I hope everyone is surviving the brutal cold. It has truly felt like Siberia here in Michigan!
