Free Printable: Recipe Card – What’s cookin’, good lookin’?

5 Nov

One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to try a new recipe each week. My husband and I were in a dinner rut, eating the same few meals each week. I’m happy to report that I have been pretty good at keeping this resolution and have incorporated many wonderful dishes into our weekly meal rotation.

But now I’m running into a bit of a problem. I have dozens of new recipes and they are all saved in various places: Pinterest, Google Docs, Evernote, printed and stuffed in my cupboard. Every time I go to make a recipe I have to dig for it. Now I know I could just pin everything to a board but this presents a few issues: cooking is messy and I have gotten food on my iPad on more than one occasion, if the web page expires, I’m out of a recipe (this happened to me before and I was devastated), and I kinda miss hard copy recipe cards that are allowed to get a little grimy. Plus they go in cute little boxes.

With my husband’s encouragement (he’s tired of me ranting when I can’t find a recipe), I have decided to come up with a recipe saving system. Basically I’m going to copy each recipe down on a cute recipe card and then keep them in a decorative box. Oldschool I know, but what keeps this practice current is I will also save each card digitally.

Is your recipe saving system a mishmash mess like mine? Then download these cute recipe cards and get to work organizing your favorite meals. I have designed four different color schemes. For easy printing, the 8.5 in x 11 in paper consists of two 4 in x 6 in recipe cards. For best results, print on heavy cardstock paper.

How do you save recipes? Do you still have recipe cards from relatives you will never part with?
