Travel Tips – Free Printables!

25 Mar

If you live in the Midwest like me, then you’re probably going stir crazy right now. This winter has been particularly lousy – cold, gloomy, and never ending. There have been a few signs of spring – birds are starting to chirp, tiny plants are pushing their way up and the stores are bursting with pastel-colored spring clothing! One thing that is keeping me from laying face down in my bed over this winter is the promise of escaping Michigan!

I love to travel and have always made it a priority; whether it’s weekend trips to Lake Michigan or globetrotting in Europe. With a Birthday milestone looming this year, my husband and I have decided to do it up big, with trips planned to the west coast, New York (for the Alt conference!!) and Europe. The trip I’m particularly excited about is Italy. My husband and I have decided to go back to Positano where we were married. It will be great to visit the seaside village, minus the wedding stress! In case you missed it, here is a link to our wedding blog post.

As much as I love to travel, planning trips can be stressful and incredibly time consuming. I have found that the more organized I am leading up to the trip, the better the trip goes. I know there are always unforeseen circumstances that can make or break your trip – lost luggage, stolen wallet, bad weather, poor packing (I’ve experienced all of these). However, many of these common trip disasters can be mitigated with the right preparation.

To help make travel planning more painless I have created a document to help keep me organized and I’m happy to share it with you! Just click the download link below.

Decorate your Desktop – Free Download

25 Feb

I’ve had some serious PC issues lately and finally decided to take my husband’s advice and get a Mac. So folks, I’m now blogging away on my new iMac, hopefully  forever free of all the computer issues that have made creating, blogging and word processing much more time consuming. So in honor of my new computer, I decided to create an inspiring desktop image to keep me motivated.

There are so many fantastic quotes out there (just look at Pinterest!), however the quote “take your passion seriously,” by Charles Eames really resonates with me. My husband and I recently watched a documentary on Netflix on Charles and Ray Eames which was quite fascinating. Arguably America’s most influential and important industrial designers, Charles and Ray were the visionary duo behind the ubiquitous Eames chair, among other impressive accomplishments.

If you find this quote as inspiring as me and wish to have a visual cue reminding you to take your craft and passion seriously, feel free to download the image and decorate your desktop!

Depending on your screen size, you may need to select the option that stretches to fit the image to your screen.
