Free-Printable-Recipe-Card-All-Put-Together

One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to try a new recipe each week. My husband and I were in a dinner rut, eating the same few meals each week. I’m happy to report that I have been pretty good at keeping this resolution and have incorporated many wonderful dishes into our weekly meal rotation.

But now I’m running into a bit of a problem. I have dozens of new recipes and they are all saved in various places: Pinterest, Google Docs, Evernote, printed and stuffed in my cupboard. Every time I go to make a recipe I have to dig for it. Now I know I could just pin everything to a board but this presents a few issues: cooking is messy and I have gotten food on my iPad on more than one occasion, if the web page expires, I’m out of a recipe (this happened to me before and I was devastated), and I kinda miss hard copy recipe cards that are allowed to get a little grimy. Plus they go in cute little boxes.

With my husband’s encouragement (he’s tired of me ranting when I can’t find a recipe), I have decided to come up with a recipe saving system. Basically I’m going to copy each recipe down on a cute recipe card and then keep them in a decorative box. Oldschool I know, but what keeps this practice current is I will also save each card digitally.

Is your recipe saving system a mishmash mess like mine? Then download these cute recipe cards and get to work organizing your favorite meals. I have designed four different color schemes. For easy printing, the 8.5 in x 11 in paper consists of two 4 in x 6 in recipe cards. For best results, print on heavy cardstock paper.

How do you save recipes? Do you still have recipe cards from relatives you will never part with?

best of the week-3

Happy Halloween everyone! Below are some great reads and life tidbits from the past week.

Made this quinoa recipe and it was delicious. I added a few more veggies, like mushroom and zucchini. When I make it again, I’ll probably leave out the cumin.

I’m a bit obsessed with the costumes from the CW’s Reign, which is why I love this tumbler blog featuring fashion from the show.

Bought this cute B&W plaid shirt from Target. It looks awesome paired with army green skinnies and this leather jacket.

Millennials have no idea how to care for their clothes, says study.

How you make decisions says a lot about how happy you are. I’m definitely a maximizer trying to become more of a “satisfier.”

This DIY washi wall decal is GENIUS. And speaking of genius, this bra strap holder is pretty awesome too.

Great tips for cleaning, storing & using fresh produce.

For pie bakers, check out these beautiful crust designs.

Great advice on how to start earning a full-time income blogging. This site is a wonderful resource for bloggers and online business owners.

Lately, my husband and I have been fantasizing about living in a tiny house. This gorgeous shed-turned studio is my new inspiration.
